The German capital Berlin, ranked as one of the 20 top tech cities in the world, is where the EIT Digital Master School will stage its sixth Graduation Day ceremony on 30 November 2019. About 300 international Master School students are expected to receive their double degree, tech diploma and certificate from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

The international students have each been studying at two different universities in Europe to learn how to apply their deep tech knowledge in business. Upon successful completion, they will receive a master's degree from each university and a EIT certificate for their skills in innovation and entrepreneurship.

EIT Digital is very proud of its graduating Master School students, says Roberto Prieto, head of the EIT Digital Academy. "Since 2012, EIT Digital has been educating Europe's new innovators and entrepreneurs to help create a strong digital Europe. We're nurturing a new kind of tech talent. Our students know how to turn emerging technologies into successful businesses. During their two years of study, they have worked with diverse nationalities across numerous disciplines, environments and ecosystems. That makes them very well placed to address digital transformation challenges in the European economy."

The graduation ceremony is held in a different location every year. Last year, it took place in Eindhoven. Madrid, Stockholm and Budapest were Graduation Day hosts in 2017, 2016 and 2015 respectively. The first Graduation Day was held in Paris in 2014, following the creation of EIT Digital Master School's network of top tech European universities in 2012, to meet the need for technologists who understand business.

Arturo Varona, EIT Digital's Head of the Master School, is happy that the Graduation Day is taking place in a different city each year. "We think it is important to show our students the different ecosystems in different countries." Sources like 2Thinknow and rank Berlin as one of the top 20 tech cities in the world. “We would very much like to show all our EIT Digital Master School students a glimpse of the internet scene here, as well as showing local tech businesses what we have to offer. The need for technical talent with an entrepreneurial mindset is very high in Berlin, as some of our keynotes certainly will address in their talks at the ceremony. In any case, we are working on making this a day to remember for our new European innovators and entrepreneurs.”
