Welcome cake

The academic year at KTH started with the reception days for all new students and the special Meet & Greet at the EIT ICT Labs Stockholm Co-location Centre for the new Master School students in the ICT Innovation programme.

The four entry tracks at KTH; Distributed Systems and Services, Embedded Systems, Human Computer Interaction and Design and InternetTechnology and Architecture, have attracted in total 54 new students and the second year ( exit) students amount to around 30 which is twice as many as the previous cohort.

The newcomers are introduced to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship training with a first challenge while the second year students need to start thinking about their thesis work and internships. There will be two master thesis work fairs in Kista, in the beginning of October helping students and companies to find a good match. Visit the KTH website for the job fairs in October.

Later in October it is time for the joint kickoff for the first year students - this year it will take place in Budapest, organized by the team at the EIT ICT Labs Associated Partner Group. It is a very appreciated event where the students form working groups across technical competences and geographical localization. In some cases these bonds continue to develop throughout the whole two year education period.

The Stockholm students can this year enjoy new auditoriums and group rooms as the entire School of ICT at KTH moved to the Electrum building, even closer co-located with the EIT ICT Labs Stockholm offices and CLC. In a few weeks there will be a new round of the startup ICT course held at the CLC - open for applications from students, researchers, anyone with an early stage idea who wish to test their idea and work on developing the business model.
