Elham's academic journey with EIT Digital

Why did you choose the EIT Digital Master School?

EIT Digital changes the way education at master’s level is conducted. It turns traditional, back-to-basics education into an innovative method which helps students learn how to conceive the future. EIT Digital helps master students learn how to build their startups, with technical skills and educational knowledge.

What do you like most about your academic curriculum?

During the first year of my studies, I learned a lot about how to present my ideas: if they are part of a seed idea for a startup for an I&E course, or a draft of an academic project related to internet technology. It’s challenging at first, but the final result will amaze you.

Was it easy to move to your entry/exit universities?

EIT Digital coordinators are there for new students and will help you go through this process easily. The switch from entry to exit university is a bit of a challenge, but it's an amazing opportunity to study in two of the best European universities.

What is the greatest lesson this academic journey has taught you?

Taking risks and not being afraid to tackle some academic topics which I hadn’t studied before. I learned a lot about the business potential of my major.

In my personal life, it has made me independent and brave enough to make decisions. I know the value of time more than ever and have become more sociable. I’ve learnt to believe in collaboration and how to deal with people.

Do you consider yourself a digital innovator?

In my major, realising the fruits of our efforts might not happen quickly, because it’s more scientific and academic than other EIT majors, but it's important to know the path you chose will lead you to develop an innovative mind.

Which advice would you give to future students to be successful and make the best of this EIT Digital experience?

Try to get the most out of this opportunity. You are going to be a member of EIT Digital community.

When you decide to launch your own startup, there are many tech friends, from entry and exit universities, with different skills, who can help you with your project.

Learn the business side of technology in I&E courses, these courses are a once-in-a-lifetime chance.

Don't forget about Summer School! And enjoy your master studies.
