Required Documents for Application

To apply to the Master School, you are required to upload the following documents into the application portal.

Note that you need to submit a complete application package consisting of the following documents before the application deadline.

1. Degree Certificate/Diploma in its original language AND translated into English (If your university does not provide this service, the translation has to be done by an authorised translator and his/her credentials, signature and stamps must be visible in the translated document). In case of ongoing studies, a statement certifying that you are in the final year of your studies. The statement must be written by the degree administration office (or equivalent department) confirming that you are enrolled on the final year of your education and giving your expected completion date. Note: If applying to Aalto as entry, your bachelor degree must be completed by July 31, 2024.

2. Official and stamped transcript of records in original language and translated into English. All courses taken must be included. Please scan the front and back of every document- all stamps and signatures must be fully visible.

3. Proof of English proficiency. Please refer to Admissions for more information.

4. Curriculum Vitae including details on your academic and professional career.

5. A letter of motivation in which you prove your innovative potential.

Technology and Innovation & Entrepreneurship are key features of the EIT Digital Master School. The letter of motivation is your chance to communicate to the selection committee your personal interest in these concepts and the programme to which you are applying, and why you are a good fit:

  • Explain why you wish to join the EIT Digital Master School, and the specific programme
  • Present/propose your entrepreneurial idea. It is up to you how you present it. You may choose to identify a problem in your area of interest and propose products or services to address the problem. Perhaps you can identify a problem in your area of interest and propose products or services to address the problem/insufficiency/lack. Feel free to include your personal and professional reasons for wanting to join the EIT Digital Master's programme in the letter (perhaps in the summary), but all in all the letter should not be longer than two pages. If you are applying to more than one programme we recommend that you write a separate letter for each programme. The same entrepreneurial idea can be developed in the letters, but they should relate to each programme's subject area and course content.

TIP: 7 Steps for a Successful Start Up Pitch

Please be aware that plagiarism is not tolerated in the EIT Digital Master school. Before preparing this letter, please familiarise yourself with the concepts Cheating and Plagiarism.

Formatting:

  • Max 2 pages (could be one page of summary and one additional page for details)
  • As the letter is attached within your application, there is no need to format it with addressing, salutations, or signature. The content of the letter is what matters.

6. An official colour ID such as a passport or National ID.

7. Optional: Document stating the GPA or the Relative Ranking, a 2-minute video to accompany your motivation letter.

Please note that, from the moment you are admitted, your university will contact you to complete the formalities for enrolment and might request additional documents from you.
