With the Artificial Intelligence with Affective Computing Master’s, you will study in two different European countries — one year at an Entry university and one year at an Exit university. In your first year, you develop a strong foundation in computer science, data analysis, and human–machine interaction, while also gaining business and innovation skills. In your second year, you deepen your expertise in affective computing and apply your knowledge to real-world challenges through a design project that combines technology with entrepreneurship.
The programme gives you advanced skills in AI techniques that can interpret and respond to human emotions, combining computer vision, natural language processing, multimodal data analysis, and ethics. By the end of the programme, you will be ready to design next-generation applications that can sense, understand, and adapt to human needs.
Why should I apply?
Emotional intelligence is the next frontier of AI. From digital health to education, customer service, and entertainment, systems that understand human emotions are transforming the way we interact with technology.
The Artificial Intelligence with Affective Computing Master’s equips you with cutting-edge knowledge in affective computing, psychology-informed AI, and ethical design, combined with hands-on practice in an international setting. You will learn to build AI applications that go beyond efficiency — shaping empathetic, trustworthy, and human-centric technologies.
As part of the EIT Digital ecosystem, you will also gain access to Europe’s innovation hubs, industry partners, and a powerful network of entrepreneurs and researchers. This unique blend of academic excellence, mobility, and real-world application ensures you graduate with both technical mastery and the entrepreneurial mindset to bring emotion AI into practice.
Is this programme for me?
If you are fascinated by the intersection of human emotions and artificial intelligence, and you want to design systems that can sense, interpret, and respond to people in a human-like way, this programme is for you.
We welcome applicants holding a Bachelor’s degree—or in their final year of study—in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Cognitive Science, or related fields. Candidates are expected to have a solid background in programming, algorithms, mathematics, and statistics. An interest in psychology, human–computer interaction, or ethics will be considered an advantage. In certain cases, relevant professional experience may also be taken into account.
Universities
By joining the Artificial Intelligence with Affective Computing programme, you can choose to study at two of the following universities:
